Writing Plan 2010
January 4th 2010 13:24
So, this year one of my writing goals is to spend more time writing. I'm going to start with a goal for writing 3-5 hours a week, spending the majority of time working on fiction projects and at least one hour working on this blog.
This plan is going to be a gradual increase in the time that I spend writing. I'm starting off with a blog schedule for three out of six days of blogging, giving me an idea what needs to get done, and every Sunday I'm going to do an hour of worldbuilding.
I'm going to track what I do, how much time I spend writing, and how many words I write starting today. I'm going to use my google calendar for Fictional Worlds, which can be found by all here, to make my schedules for the coming months. I don't yet know how I'm going to track what I do, but I'll figure something out.
Remember that you have to make an active effort to reach your goals. Make up a plan for yourself for the year. By the end of this year, know where you want to be. Know that you want to be spending 10, 15, 20 hours a week writing. Know that you want to have finished two, three, four novels.
Know what you want to do and make up a plan to get there, and once you've made a plan, stick to it.
My goal? 10 hours a week of writing time by the end of 2010.

Fictional Worlds
Worldbuilding is the act of creating the setting for your story. It's the act of making floor plans, maps, of making up cities, countries, religions, all that good stuff.
