December 14th 2009 02:08
A list of WriMos from May to December to keep you occupied in the coming year...
The May challenge seems to be out of a forum, so June on!
June
Stringing Words these guys who run TED, mentioned earlier, also run a June novel writing challenge.
WriDaNoJu a Nano-style challenge to write 50, 000 words in the month of June.
July
JulNoWriMo a novel writing challenge in July. I've heard this one has a really great community and I know many people who have participated. Goodness all around. 50, 000 words later...
50/90 Challenge a challenge to write 50 songs in 90 days... may or may not involve music; it could just be lyrics. Not my thing but it might be yours.
August
Augnowrimo for Augno, you set your own goal. The forums are great, the people are great, all around I love Augno almost as much as Nano. There is also a Livejournal community (clicky).
September
Septno this challenge is more focused towards editing than writing, but you can also choose a writing goal. There is also a livejournal community (clicky).
3 Day Novel Contest this challenge asks you to not only write, but to edit a novel in three days. There is a $50 entry fee, but there are also some pretty awesome prizes.
October
Gothno this is a challenge to write something Gothic of novella or novel proportions in the month of October.
November
Nanowrimo... do I have to say anything more?
National Solo Album Month write, perform, record an album by yourself in one month. It needs be no more than 30 minutes long, and one song can be a cover-but only one.
December
NanoFimo National Novel Finishing month is a challenge to finish your novel by adding at least 30, 000 words to it.
If there are any that I've missed, please let me know.
