I'm afraid I will have to claim defeat for my day of writing; I was aiming for thirty five thousand-to
beat what had, so far been my best-and I have been defeated by an evil, evil malfunctioning
Italics function, which has so far succeeded in nothing but driving me insane.
And it wouldn't have been such a big deal that the Italics screwed up on me, only they did so right in the middle of a very long dream sequence. Where she has, you know, nightmares, and then breaks from them which aren't in Italics. But for the next several weeks, she is doomed to have progressively worse nightmares.
So, almost 20, 000 words in, I have to throw in the towel and claim defeat by a stupid button on the word processor which just refuses to work. I did end up sleeping so I'm not sure I could've made thirty-five thousand words even without this hellish button acting up. It's just such a headache that I've officially given up on it for tonight, because I have no idea how to fix the Italics; I tried restarting the word processor, and it didn't work, so all hope is lost now.
And I would try restarting the computer, only getting it to start up again is a real pain in the ass, because it's a really old computer and randomly freezes.
I am so not happy about this, though.
