Synopsis V. 2
June 14th 2008 17:29
Demons: not what you might expect... but not very nice either. Riana is a demon forced to return home and face her 'Family's' trial for a 'crime'. At Home she is rescued from them by Loki, and now she is to protect and guard Moonshadow-and its royal bloodline.
Riana sets out to destroy the telepathic plague that clings to the youngest member of the royal line... and along the way falls in love with a vampire named Andre. The two ride off on Rolf, their dragon, in the midst of night... they destroy Lari, an ancient queen... and then Andre loses his sight and his sanity.
She must return to the capital bearing this news and bringing survivors of the restoration of Riminira as the city burns. When she returns... there is always more bad news. Soon she sets out with the survivors of Riminira to colonize the 'Wastes', the old country. Andre comes with her and they colonize the ancient City Of The Endeared.
As they rebuild the culture of Shalinor or the 'Wastes', Riana finds herself entranced by a library which tells her of her past... what she ignored... and finds herself forging a friendship with a shadow of sorts, the Librarian.
It is when the Librarian and she fight that she becomes friends with Nathan, leader of the Moonshadow army; he approaches her and they begin speaking. War breaks out and the city is attacked more than once... In one attack, Nathan dies.
Riana returns to the library-to find that the Librarian is gone, faded away. After losing her only two friends, she becomes miserable... but at the end of the Librarian's story she reads her own epiphany. A boy from Tar'Ig'Voe, the warring nation, comes to speak with her.
The boy asks for her help with the rebellion-and she provides, not happy with herself for that or any reason whatsoever-she takes down a royal family and puts a new one in place.
She returns to Moon Kurai, the capital, to find that Jacob I is returning... many years later, she writes her own story, condemning her to death, as is dictated by the gods...
