Reading something over on Writer's Notes (link included to blog) got me thinking about NaNoWriMo. So I checked out the site.
And discovered that one of their fundraisers which they did not expect to work out worked out beautifully. I am so happy to hear it! I love Nanowrimo and have been a firm supporter for four years now. I always wished I could donate. But I have never yet had the money. Here we go, though, I've got something to show off-a free and easy way to support NaNoWriMo:
Really Long Link
Goodsearch is run by Yahoo. It's a search engine which donates a penny to a selected charity for every search performed by a person.
To donate to Nanowrimo, type in The Office Of Letters And Light and click verify. And then search.
Sure, a penny isn't much; but add it up, especially when you're doing a lot of searches for some reason. Or when you've got thousands of people searching. And think of how wonderful a writing opportunity NaNo really is. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Nano and can't wait to be able to donate to them, I really can't wait.
I look forward to November eagerly and I hope that people will use this search engine so Chris Baty will continue to be able to provide thousands of writers with fun and challenge one month every year.
