Prompt of the Week: Hold me like you Love Me
September 22nd 2010 12:18
Hold Me Like you Love Me
Just for a moment
hold me like you love me
like nothing can go wrong
like nothing ever did
and please, darling,
kiss me one last time
like I'm your girl
like I never left.
And maybe through the tears
we can try again?
Not today
nor tomorrow
but someday...
I'd love to be yours
but I'm not ready now.
I'm sorry...
if you want
just for a moment
I can hold you like I love you.
Your turn. Let's try something new! Post the first 75 words of your response to this exercise in a comment.

It is not quite fatigue but my body insists upon rest.
I don’t sleep; what happens is akin to deep meditation. Often, I just lie back on my couch and drape an arm over my eyes. Different from before, I do less drifting in and out and instead am now able to sink into a silence of my own creation. I am aware of my surroundings but more interested in my undetermined destination."

As ever, more from the Elgin World.
I really like your poem. It is romantic and angsty and still very grounded and real. Lovely work and I will miss reading them.
I often read your posts at work in the am and have the rest of the day and drive home to mull over an angle. This week, I was able to sketch in some more details of Elgin's World and was hoping that whatever the topic was, I'd get a chance to explore it. I wfas able to pick at an element and - while not quite "hold me like you love me", I think I did get at the concept of holding and loving. Alright - so it might be a stretch and I am better off just saying I used a couple words that contained the letter "L". LOL!
Ah me. FF makes Wednesdays worth living. : )
Still working on the nano stuff.
Cheers!

I'm always glad to hear that you're enjoying yourself. Blogging and writing in general has been flowing a lot better for me lately. It's partially because of this weekly prompt; I'm inspiring myself just as I am inspiring you. Life is very interesting, and when you pay attention, there are a million things to inspire.
That is a beautiful piece, and I did see the connection. And it almost moved me to tears. Your characters are truly coming alive through these exercises, your world taking form. It's beautiful to watch, and the story moves me every time I read.
All good things must come to an end; perhaps more will someday surface, just not in the moment. The poems are more personal than fiction.
I'm really glad to have you here at Fictional Worlds and I'm glad that I brighten your day. You always put a smile on my face with your comments, even when your stories move me to tears.

His vision in the night stunned me; the imagery was beautiful, the voice was powerful, and I could almost feel his pain with him. And the very last line was the most amazing of all. It left me shaken.
