Prompt: Fallen

October 26th 2008 22:08
Fallen
--------
Her wings are gray
Her eyes are too
And full of tears;
Her face is full of shadows
Hidden fears.

She is a fallen angel,
She tried her best
But to no avail,
And so here she lies,
Kicked in the dirt and the mud
For the simple sin
We all commit.

For they say it is a sin to love;
Though I believe it is not,
And if you were to see her
In all her broken glory
Surely then
You would believe me.
----------------------------

Your turn.

This is a great line:

Her face is full of shadows

Tweet, tweet!

Hidden in the shadow of your wings
in the darkness and warmth of your feathers
protected from the dangers this life brings
I can hear the voices, close, faraway
hear so clearly what they say

“Misguided, misled
he fell, was tripped, tricked
into this trap!”

Stale conversations and mouldy cheese
are for rats, mice and feral cats

they’re not listening to the birds
the ones close by

singing in the morning, singing at night

Treetops might be high
you just have to raise your eyes
and learn how to climb

Sure, you can fall and go splat, but

I dove beak-first
into the mystery that is You

I begged for you,
to fell me, (true)

and I became,
a tower of rage

when your weapon
proved a failure

so I became a God,
believing none could touch me

the power, it corrupts
much like your heart,

years later I see...
your weapon did indeed

cleave my heart,
so fine the cut

it went unnoticed,
until the bleed ran

out of control.....
So.

Angel wings broken and torn,
by my will,

and your hand.

Kleo,

Stunning. Absolutely beautiful; you certainly have a way with words.

Kleo,

I've never read them, but I've heard of them. I'll look into them soon. After Nanowrimo.
