Prompt: Best Friend: Poem

Best Friends
----------------
The sun has not yet risen,
But we have not been sleeping;
When one girl says to another
"You do not understand
The pain I have felt,
How I held the knife
To my breast each night;
You do not know,
How much I hurt."
And the other responds:
"Oh but I do understand-
And I have wished the tub would drown me,
And that the pillow would smother me;
That I would not wake up,
But each morning I did,
I knew pain."
And thus was forged
Stronger than steel or so we thought
A beautiful friendship.
---
Your turn.

I was lost and torn,
obviously, alone
misunderstood, ultimately,
then, she came to me.
we call them mate,
but a friend is more,
as life turns on
the years grow stale
but my understanding of her
and her to me
shall always be,
as new as the dark moon,
and as delicate
as her secret.
Phew! That was a bit clumsy wasnt it? This was a good one Dianna!
