Pep Talk!
November 22nd 2008 11:19
I am now sitting at my original goal of 250, 000 words.

This is sponsoring my novel.
Here goes my pep talk:
-----------------------------
So we're almost through the month. Some of you are behind; some of you are ahead. But no matter where you are, it's important to keep pushing forward. Why? Because Nano's goal may say fifty thousand words, but even one word is something. That's one more word than you would have written otherwise.
Just write as much as you can for the rest of the month. Even if you can only pound out 500 words a day, that's something. That's still creative writing. I know that some people and their giant word counts may make you feel small, but you aren't. Even signing up, even trying, is something most people won't do.
The fact that you are willing to so much as attempt to write a novel in a month is a wonderful thing; don't put yourself down if you don't make it. Especially those of you who have had something bad happen this month-those on the forums who have lost pets or relatives or jobs; you can't put yourself down because you were unable to finish after that.
So just keep going. Even if you can only write for fifteen minutes a day-however many words that may be for you-just write something. A little something. Every day.
Writing a novel is a wonderful thing; and even if you can't do it in a month, I hope that Nano will inspire you to continue working on your novel, to continue writing throughout the year-and that you return next year to try again!
And thanks to everyone who donates and the two that have already donated, putting my fundraising effort at $15.00. I love you guys.
