November's over-And now?

December 3rd 2008 13:23
Here are some links to various sites by and for writers-specifically those of us who have participated in Nanowrimo. Some of these are blogs/other sites by Nanos who have been a great support to me, some of them are designed to keep Nanos going throughout the year. So here goes:

The first link is a page on the Nanowrimo site itself-the 'I wrote a novel, now what?' page that they put up every year in the first week of December is now live:

Really Long Link

This page has a lot of the links I would be putting up if it didn't, to various offshoots of Nanowrimo.

The second link is to my donate page, because I haven't hit my goal yet. Please donate before January first, which is when the page will be closed down.

Really Long Link

Moving on with my life, let's get into blogs:

Really Long Link

A blog about Nano by a Nanoer. It's entertaining, if not the most information-packed blog you'll ever see.

Really Long Link

This is a blog run by a few people, and has entries about Nanowrimo; it's a fun read.

Really Long Link

An entertaining blog about a Wrimo's adventures-not worksafe, folks.

Moving on, this is another blog:

Really Long Link

This is another entertaining one. Next:

Really Long Link

This is a blog by a published Nanowrimo writer, and it's interesting though I haven't had the time to read as much as I would like.

The last of the blogs:

http://doctornefarious.com/

This one isn't a Nanowrimo blog; it's a website run by the local ML here, who I love to bits-and who is, sadly, leaving us very soon. It's been great knowing him as long as I have,
and I'm going to miss him. A lot. Please read to support him, he's absolutely wonderful and it's a fairly amusing site though I haven't looked around as much as I would like.

And finally:

http://writemare.blogspot.com/

This is by another local Nanoer, and it's pretty funny. I've read a couple of snippets from his novel and they were pretty darn good. Word wars at four in the morning are fun for interesting writing.

The following two sites are pages on Lulu for two books of Wrimos I know, one from Nano and one from Augno. Please take a look and at least consider buying:

Really Long Link

This is a guy that was visiting Toronto from England last year-I met him at the Thank God It's Over Party, and I think I scared him a little, but he seemed cool.

Really Long Link

This guy I met through Augnowrimo; he was my editor for a while, but the guy that ran my publishing company seems rather dead to the world. For this reason he published his book via Lulu, hoping to at a later date gain publication via more traditional methods. He's very supportive of my writing and very interested in Jihad-which is turning into a series.

I also have to say that the cover art for his book is incredible.

Next:

Really Long Link

This is a writing forum for which I am currently one of the moderators; I may have to bow out considering my wrist, but I will continue to be an active member there. It's basically an effort to keep Nanowrimo going throughout the year, or various writing challenges at least. I think it has great potential.

The following is a site not for writers, but by a very close friend of mine who has encouraged me greatly every year I've done Nano-and who's been around that long:

http://bunnyherolabs.com/

Please look at his site, it's fun, it's basically pets you can put on your site. The whole virtupets thing. He's a great guy, they're great pets, and this thing is his livelihood. Check it out.

There will be other writing sites linked to in other posts in the near future, but this is the Nano-specific one.

Thanks for reading,
~Dianna

(Please let me know if you have any links you think I should add, excluding those in the I wrote a novel, now what? Page of the Nanowrimo site.

Hey sweetie, I wish I could donate to you. If I was a millionare Id have no drama tossing you ten grand. But at the moment Im wondering how I can get people to donate to me.

I love that one of those sites is called 'White Mare' its such a powerful and ancient totem, so magical...And I own one! A very magical beast indeed.

Kleo,

No worries-we all go through rough times. I hope you get what you need.

I've always had a love of horses... actually, one of the books in my all time favourite series was about the white horse carving into a hill in England. There is something very mystical about them indeed... though I think the site's name is supposed to be 'Writemare', but still interesting.
