Insult
I love you and I always will
but I can't deal with you insulting yourself
at every single turn;
no matter how I try to build you up
you're always tearing yourself down.
It breaks my heart to see
how much you hate yourself
how much you think you're bad
you can't see the good
but I can.
You don't know why I love you
perhaps you never will
but I won't stop loving you.
I hope someday you'll see what I see
see that you're a good person
that you really are handsome
that you really are smart
that you're so much more
than you've ever thought you are.
Please
don't insult yourself anymore
don't call yourself names
realize that every time I say you're a good guy
it's not a lie;
realize that you can be so much more
if only you let yourself.

That's for a dear friend of mine. On another note, both Fictional Worlds and I have had a birthday this month-Fictional Worlds is three years old now and I'm a whole 17 years old. Almost legal-just a hop skip and a jump away, right?

I don't comment often but I am still reading your work. Your poetic talent seems to be developing as time goes by.
Well done on sticking with it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes
I'm glad to see that you're still reading my work and that you're enjoying it.
The poetry is at its best in certain moments; the best poetry is made from a passion. The way I feel about certain things and in certain moments is the best poetic inspiration. That said, everything gets better with practice.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Celebrations like this are awesome! (tosses confetti and sidles in for cake).
A three-year-old website is ridiculously great! Internet years are so much more accellerated than real time ... so lasting 3 years and keeping at it is really really terrific!!!
I wish you many many many more happpy birthdays! : )
Regarding your poem ... I never cease to want to know more when I read your material. I want to know the whole story and I think that's a sign of being interesting and holding reader's attention. : )
Hope you enjoy this week's stuff ... I am off to have ice cream in your honour!!
Cheers

Fictional Worlds
Your flash fiction makes me just as curious as my writings make you. I am enjoying watching Elgin's story progress and I look forward to reading more.
The whole story will perhaps never become apparent; there are very few people even in my close social circles with the whole story. People have different bits and pieces, and entirely different bits and pieces go here, but the whole story is a mystery...
Right now it's a time of change; I am making big changes to my life and I am trying to inspire others to do the same-many people around me have fallen into ruts. It's about time we started climbing out.
