Honesty
Honesty
that's all I ask for
why is it
the only thing I never get?
You can't even
tell me to my face
that you wish we could be
but that it just won't work.
I don't know
which hurts more-
hearing that
or knowing that you
couldn't tell me yourself.
I like you
a lot.
Really, I do.
And I know
that you like me too.
It's too bad
that you can't be honest
because maybe if you could've been
there would've been a chance
far down the road
for us.
Now there is nothing
but messages
from third parties
and a web of lies
of your making
not mine.
Why,
when honesty is the only thing I want
is it the only thing I never get?
