Going Into The New Year
December 31st 2008 02:38
We're all getting ready for the upcoming year; setting ourselves goals we may or may not actually complete, wrapping up old threads, old stories from the last year. It is a time of transition from one thing to the next-and for some of us, the transition is extreme.
Some of us will be looking for new jobs, new homes, new lovers, new friends in the upcoming year; there are those of us who want to change ourselves, the things we surround ourselves with, the people we spend our days with. And it's almost the new year.
I'm looking forward to the new year, really; it's going to be great fun. I've got so much planned out-my writing goals, everything; I'm going to be looking for my first job-we'll see how that goes-and probably even moving out at the end of the year.
I met someone very recently, someone who has changed my life just by existing; I've found a new best friend, or so it seems. Someone who will stand by me-and who I will stand by until the end of time if need be.
We all meet people who change our lives, for the better or the worse. I hope to continue to meet people who can change my life, who can help me, who I can help, over the course of the next year. I hope I can go further with my writing. It's my passion, my life. It means everything to me, in the end; my life is writing, writing is my life. There is nothing else I know.
I'm going into the new year with high expectations for myself and low expectations for others; I will help people, I will write, and I will be myself. I'm determined; there are so many things I have to do, and I want to get each and every one of them done.
Let's all go into the new year reaching for our hopes and dreams.
Tomorrow begins 2009. And starting from tomorrow, I will blog every other day. No loopholes.
Happy New Year everyone.
I hope 2009 is good for you.
