Freedom is Painful

June 21st 2010 12:31
Well I finished school on Friday... all of my assignments have been completed and now I get to sit and wait for marks.

What else happened on Friday? I woke up in lots of pain. Where was the pain? If you guessed wrist, you're close-my entire hand seized up, and it's been hurting ever since. Tomorrow I'm going to look into the matter of getting myself a proper family doctor with the hopes that I can be sent to a specialist before July is over. It's no longer just painful, it's become almost crippling.

What will I be doing here at Fictional Worlds between now and then? I planned on running an Increasing Productivity workshop next month, but due to the pain in my wrist, I won't be able to participate, and the workshop isn't just for you guys-it's for me, too. I'm hoping to still run some kind of workshop, and I will be having writing exercises every Tuesday, but I can't make any promises beyond that.

Until I get to see a specialist, posting here at Fictional Worlds might be sparse, but I will try to bring you the best content that I can. I will be posting at least three times a week-a writing exercise on Tuesday, an article about writing one day, and a link post every Friday.

Part of the reason I want to cut back on posting here is so that the limited writing I am able to do can be focused on other projects-namely working on my other website, building a Fictional Worlds newsletter and possibly forum, and turning the Dear Diary workshop into an ebook. I have a list of summer writing goals and projects that I'll be sharing and examining in more detail with you later this week.

I'm really sorry to hear about your hand. That's a serious impediment and I'm glad you are seeking medical attention.

I'll be checking in often and will try to keep up with the Tues challenges.

My main area of writing at present is to finish up a fanfic (now > 80,000 words!). I haven't written since March (pre screnzy) and now am getting poked wondering if I am going to finish. So CLOSE to the end, too! There's about 2 chapters to write and it will be agony to get it done.

I am also mulling over the actual DOING of a blog ish thing whatnot. I've done a bunch of drawing and images seem to be a really good jump off point for destinationless rambling.

: )

If I get one up, will tweet link.

take good care of yourself!

RP,

I'm glad to see you've stayed with me, and thank you for all of your support and well wishes. I'm going to spend the next week or two hunting for a family doctor. I'm hoping I can get one and get referred to a specialist for my hand and wrist by September, preferrably sooner.

Have fun with your fanfiction. I haven't written any fanfiction in quite some time, but I used to write a lot of it, and it can be a lot of fun.

I'd definitely be interested in reading your blog if there was such a thing. And you keep reminding me to go on twitter... I definitely need those reminders!
