Introducing...
August 9th 2007 03:58
This is an 'extra' post... and an introduction of my new novel!
Founding Of Moonshadow is a book based in the years of Jacob the First, who ruled Moonshadow and brought the Tribes together to form one nation. The book deals with necromancy, vampires, prophecy, religious expectations (think Lasher only not Christian), and madness. It's mostly poetic, with a few paragraphs of 'normal' writing here and there.
The format of this book is controversial and unlikely to attract a traditional publisher with its mix of poetry and exposition, so I'm planning on self-publishing it and/or sending it to a small press. I haven't fully made the decision yet. In the end I might end up self publishing it either way, if it doesn't work out.
As this is a much, much shorter work-I'm anticipating it to be around 50-80 pages-which is really short in word count-it will probably be finished by Monday. I'll take a week's break, go at it for a round of editing, get a couple crits on it, rewrite it, and be finished with it by November 1st, ready to publish/submit.
Trust me, I can be quite the workaholic. My successful edit of Moonshadow has given me a crapload of energy with which to work my butt off.
So, out of curiosity, would YOU read Founding Of Moonshadow?

Fictional Worlds
I'm figuring most people would probably say that.
It's turned into more of a novel than a poetry thing, which is amusing. It's very much an oversized poetic summary of the founding of Moonshadow. Not really 'world building' notes, but it's amazingly fun to write.
Of course, it's quite the challenge, since I'm not using any dialogue whatsoever.
I'm already on page 18, which is pretty quick writing.
Glad to hear from you
