So. My two-year anniversary of blogging is coming up. (Agust 13th) I've decided that on the date itself I will be doing a special post, thanking those who have inspired me since I came here, talking about why I blog etc. etc. It will also have links to some of my best posts since January.
I'm going to do four posts, total, in relation to this. Each one will contain 10 of my favourite posts from a certain time period since I've been here.
I've learned a lot about writing during the time that I've spent blogging. Both through blogging and through other writing. And through reading-lots of reading. (More on that later.) I've learned many things about voice, about style, about reaching readers. My own voice has developed, though in many ways it is much the same as when I started blogging here.
There have been a couple periods of time during which I virtually disappeared from this blog for stress reasons. Because of this, some months don't have any particularly good posts, and a couple don't have any at all.
Here are 10 of the best posts I've written since starting here: (From August 2007 to March 2008, before the first months-long disappearance)
August, 2007-Researching Your Markets: A post talking about why you should research your markets-and why to consider small presses.
August 2007-To Edit Is To Make Better (In Theory): A post about why things need to be edited-and how good it feels to finally finish those edits.
November 2007-Writing Productivity: A post talking about the various reasons writers write less.
December 2007-Writing Productivity 2: A list of ways to get past whatever is blocking you.
January 2008-Pen And Paper: A post about the poor man's laptop.
January 2008-To Be A Writer: About the passion for writing.
January 2008-...Silence...: A brief post about my day in the mental ward.
February 2008-Writing Is My Work: A post about how much I love writing.
February 2008-10 Worst Mistakes In Blogging: Though it was early on in my blogging career, I still say that these are pretty much the ten worst things a blogger can do.
February 2008-A Little Poem: A love poem which is all right, definitely not the best poem on this blog though.
Those are the ten best posts I wrote from Agust 2007 to March 2008. Tomorrow I'll be posting a review of the book I just finished reading, and Friday I'm going to be taking the day away from blogging and everything else. Spend my whole day reading or something.
By the way everyone, now that August is just a day or two away, I'd like to remind you guys that AugNoWriMo is just around the corner. Google it and join us on the forums; let's go for our goal together.
