150K and thoughts
November 13th 2009 11:52
Well at this point I'm a little behind where I need to be, but I did just hit 150K and am on my way to bed...
I've finished Phoenix Falling and it's an absolutely heartbreaking tale. I really liked the way I wrapped it up, although I knew that was how the story was going to end, the actual writing turned out better than I thought.
There is a lot for me to think about, and at this point, a lot of different ideas I can explore in this world and the worlds that I have managed to connect to it with this book. This work has given me a lot to do both in editing and in writing more and it has given me a lot to think of it. I am grateful that I've written it, and I'm satisfied to have written the words 'THE END' in big bold letters at the bottom of the last page.
I'm writing a fanfiction Novella while I decide what novel to work on next. I might do the adopted plot, but I don't want to leave this world now that I have written Phoenix Falling, so tomorrow there will be much brainstorming and I will make an official decision as to what novel to write next.
Everyone else, you should be closing in on twenty-five thousand words as we come to the end of the fifteenth... and I have a challenge for you if you are behind.
10, 000 words. Five hours. Saturday, 1-5PM EST I will be doing this. And if you do it from this Saturday (tomorrow) until next Saturday, AT ANY POINT IN TIME between those two dates, and you get past 5K or write for more than 2 hours, then you will get a mention on this blog, and I will link to your blog/website. Just leave a comment here with your Nanowrimo name, total word count, and a link, or Nanomail me with the info.
More tomorrow. Thanks for reading, folks.
